how do i fix a broken flash on my camera? (Olympus Stylus 760)?

I have an Olympus Stylus 760 digital camera. It works fine without flash. but when i put it ON flash, a red arrow pops up on the screen when I hold the button down to take a picture and it wont actually take the picture.
please help, its much appreciated!!

Try new batteries. It may be that the flash just is not getting charged up.

My Olympus Stylus 760 has started overexposing or underexposing some photos. Mostly closeups of faces.?

The camera which has not been dropped is acting very wierd. The shutter stays open and it makes a noise like it is trying to do something. We have fully charged the battery and still can't get it to work. From a display standpoint, on one line it reads "D:8282" and on the next line it reads "8234". Any help would be much appreciated..

The numbers you see on the display are most likely status or error codes telling you there is a problem with the system memory chip. You can try this to reset the camera completely, if it works it will erase all your settings on the camera and the memory will try to reinitialize as if it was new. The object is to allow internal capacitors to lose their charge so that it will do an automatic reset.

1. Remove the battery and memory card.
2. Try to turn the camera on without the battery inserted.
3. Wait at least fifteen minutes, an hour or more is better.
4. Insert a freshly charged battery.
5. Turn the camera back on and see if there are any messages. If not turn it back off, insert a memory card and try it out.

i have an olympus stylus 710 and it used to happen all the time...GENTLY push it closed, it won't hurt it....

i got sand stuck in my camera and couldn't close the lense and "fixed" it with compresed air and by pushing it closed

I don't really have a very high opinion of Olympus cameras. Their image quality is definitely not as good as others.

As for video quality...the Stylus 760 does not record very high quality video. It has a top frame quality/rate of 640x480 @15fps, which is a low frame rate (the more frames per second, the better). Also, it's video is fairly highly compressed.

For better quality movies, you need to be able to record at 640x480 @ 30fps.

Canon cameras generally have very good quality movie recording capability (and they do not compres their videos as highly). So, you will need to make sure you have a good capacity memory card.

I have a stylus 760 camera. How do you do self timer on the camera???

it turns on but da lens wont close when i turn it off and it doesnt want to take pics but goes to my pictures

If the batteries are new or fully charged then its been dropped or damaged in some way.

Camera repair is definitely NOT a "do it yourself" project. Its likely to cost more to have it repaired than its worth so use it as a paperweight and begin shopping for a new camera.

I've lost the USB cord for my digital camera, and I'm wondering how I can go about getting a new one... Its an Olympus Stylus 760. It has a very specific memory card so your average standard memory card reader probably won't work... Help, anyone? XD Thank you!

they sell usb cords in any electronic store like circuit city staples best buy or officemax i am sure you can get one there or try going to the website for Olympus they may have a replacement usb cord that you can purchase

There are better cameras available. Olympus use xD memory cards, which are quite slow compared to SD cards. Also, the 760's top movie quality is only 15fps...you should look for 640x480 at 30 fps for better looking movies.
Canon is my top pick (with better photo and movie quality & features).
