HDR with Olympus SP-350

neorendition posted a new topic:

Just my two cents:

One thing I like about the SP-350 is its "Bracketing" feature. This feature allows you to take multiple exposures of a scene for HDR (High Dynamic Range) processing. Sure you can do it manually, but why do it manually if you can do it easily and smoothly with auto-bracketing?

To enable the auto-bracketing feature, you have to set the camera in Program mode. Once in program mode, you go to Mode Menu-Camera-Drive-and then Bracketing (it's abbreviated to BKT). In the Bracketing menu you can set the exposure steps (1, 1/2, or 1/3) and then the number of shots (3 or 5). Be forewarned that Bracketing is way slower compare to DSLRs because the SP-350 does not buffer but writes directly to the storage media. That said, it is recommended to use a tripod, and one more thing- patience.

After you have taken the shots, you can process the images using an HDR software. I use Dynamic Photo HDR, or you can use other HDR software like Photomatix.

Here are the examples:

My other camera is a Canon A640; this is my all around camera. I have used the A640 for HDR once or twice - I had to do it manually so I stopped. So for HDR purposes, I use my SP-350 all the way.

Thank you for reading and I can't wait for your SP-350 HDRs! Feel free to message me.

where can i download an "SP-350" driver for windows that will let me access my Olympus camera?

i already had some sh*ty 'Olympus master' software but i un-installed it because it was annoying me.

I can't seem to find it. Its as if it doesn't exist. Please help or shed some light.
Then why am i looking for a driver? Why was the device not recognised?

You don't really need a driver for a digital camera. Just plug in the camera with the usb cord and open it in MyComputer as a drive and copy/paste to file of your choosing, or you can get an external card reader and do the same thing.

Does anyone own an Olympus SP-350 digital camera?

If so how long is the battery life?

According to Steves-Digicams, battery life was dissapointing, three battery changes were required to capture 100 images, read the whole review here, http://www.steves-digicams.com/2005_reviews/sp350.html or see the conclusions here, http://www.steves-digicams.com/2005_reviews/sp350_pg5.html

Olympus SP-350 question about the batteries ?

ok I got a sp-350 olympus camera from a friend and it worked and now that i took a few pics the camera just does not work and when i put any kind of aa batteries it just blinks green and orange lights every 2 seconds and so i was told it does not work and i need special aa batteries, can some shed some light on this issue, all i know that the camera works cause i took some pics with it. but yahoo answers community can u help me out

Regular AA's will not be able to power the Olympus SP-350 for very long.

I recommend that you purchase a rechargeable AA battery kit. You can find them online at Amazon for under $20 bucks: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00012F7HS/?tag=amazon-digital-cameras-20

Hope that Helps :)

Best Regards,
Dusty

you must use rechargeable batteries

I'd recommend to get the "pre-charged" type of NiMH rechargeable AA batteries. They keep the charge longer and work the best for digital cameras.

Suggestion for External flash to work with Oly SP-350?

Would like some suggestions on a 3rd-party external flash that will work well with an Olympus SP-350 camera...Thanks!

it should also be applicable for the SP350.

Olympus sp-350 color tones?

How do change the color tone to black and white on the Olympus sp-350 digital camera?

Olympus SP-350 packaged?

Look over packages for digital camera Olympus SP-350 by photos shown on digital camera stores on internet, I saw they had been package by box (carton) or by plastic (clear pvc).
So, what's different? Why? (applied for other products)
Somebody can help me: Which one bettter?

they are the same. the box is how it comes if you order it by mail. the plastic wrap is how you buy it at Costco.

Olympus SP-350 Lens? and Batteries?

I recently bought this lens for my SP-350

http://www.amazon.com/Telephoto-Olympus-SP-350-SP-310-Digital/dp/B000I5KTD0/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=photo&qid=1233107323&sr=1-5
I was wondering if I needed this adapter to use the lenses?

http://www.amazon.com/Olympus-200359-CLA-9-Lens-Adapter/dp/B000BTNIQS/ref=pd_cp_p_1?pf_rd_p=413862901&pf_rd_s=center-41&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B000I5KTD0&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=130AMTC5X7GPCEVNDW8H

Also I purchased these batteries and wondering if this was the best decision? SP-350 is known for having fast battery drainage and I updated to 1.4 so I hope the battery problem is gone, but I was wondering if these were the best batteries or maybe I should've bought rechargable CRV3?

http://www.amazon.com/Sony-2500-Rechargeable-Batteries-4-pack/dp/B0007LBVHI/ref=pd_cp_p_0?pf_rd_p=413863501&pf_rd_s=center-41&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B00006RTX6&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1NZK0J5WMVAA6GHP5J6K

Thank you!

Since the lenses are designed for your camera, I doubt you'll need the converter. Or it'd be part of the kit. At least should be.

My SP-350 Olympus camera won't take pictures.?

I have had my camera for about a year and a few months, and just recently, It won't take a picture. The screen would be on, but completely black. Then if I try and take a picture, the screen goes from black to a white to light purple hue. all of my pictures I have taken previously before this still come up on the screen.
I emailed Olympus but just wanted to ask here if anyone knew, or had this happen to them.

I would call, rather than wait for them to reply by email.

how do u charge an olympus sp-350 digital camera?

the duracell rechargable batteries just died and i dont know how to charge them please help

You can't "charge" the sp-350 camera. It uses AA batteries, so you either buy new ones or buy the rechargeable NiMH ones.
