On the Olympus FE-140 is there sound with the video feature?

I can't get any sound recorded when in video mode, can this camer record sound? if so how?

I don't think your camera can record audio.
It also has a poor quality movie mode compared to others.
In future look for a camera that can record audio...and has a better resolution of 640x480 at 30fps. Yours is only 320x240 at 15fps.

I have a Olympus FE-140 camera and I have a problem with the sound on both the camera and my computer. It won't let me hear the sound on either. anybody know how to fix this?

first of all... is there even a volume mic. if there is go in the menu on your camera and adjust volume controls

it seems to take for ever to take the picture after pressing the button.
I miss a lot of shots of my little daughter doing stuff because the camera takes so long to actually take the photo.

Try turning off auto-focus, or set the mode dial to sports or action mode. (that's the icon that looks like a running man). Or you can pre-focus (push the shutter half-way down while focusing at a range you expect to be shooting, and hold it until a photo opportunity arises). Personally, that's why I dumped my FE-370 for a Casio Exilim. FE supposedly stands for "Fast and Easy". To me, it means "Frustrating and Exasperating."

Olympus FE-140?

I have an Olympus FE-140 digital camera and it takes video, but w/ no sound!!! Is there anyway I could get an external mic for it or something??? PLEASE I WANT SOUND SOOOO BAD!!! :)

Unfortunately, the FE-140 does not record sound and there's no microphone input. The only way to record sound would be to get a different camera.

The FE-140 is a low-end Olympus and doesn't have a sound recording feature.

and used to use camedia 4.2 to download the pictures onto my computers.. but i got a new computer and cant download camedia because i dont have the case with the serial number on it. is there anyother programs i can download that is free??

Which camera is better to purchase?
~The Casio Exilim EX-Z750
or
~The Olympus FE-140

I am buying a new camera and I wasnt sure which was better, b/c i've heard bad stuff about both of them. Please tell me what you think, and if you have either of them please tell me how you like it.

I don't know about the Olympus, but I have the EX-Z750 and I love it. By the way, Casio now has a EX-Z850 (they upped the Megapixels to 8).

Regarding the "oversaturation" comments about the 750, I simply set the default sharpness and saturation to "-1" and the pictures come out great.

The movie mode is so good (640x480, 30fps) that I almost never use my camcorder anymore.

After looking at the specs of the Olympus, I'd say you're not really comparing apples to apples. Feature-wise, the Casio seems to be in a slightly different league. That doesn't mean the Olympus doesn't take great pictures - just that it seems to be a bit more on the "entry-level" side of the scale.

I would also second the DPReview.com reference mentioned in a previous answer. Another good (and less technical) review site is Steve's Digicams (http://www.steves-digicams.com/). Their review of the Z750 is here: http://www.steves-digicams.com/2005_reviews/ex-z750.html.

Are you able to change the pictures to black and white, if so how?? Please help?

Olympus FE-140

View your image in Photoshop or related products. Press [SHIFT]+[CTRL]+[U] all at the same time and - VOILA! - you have a black and white picture.

The steps mightbe different in another brand of software, but look under color adjustments for a command to "remove color."

There may be a way to TAKE B&W pics with your camera, but your question asked how to change them to B&W.

better, which one is the better buy. If you have any of them please tell me if you like it or not.
