Which one is better the Nikon Coolpix L6 or Nikon Coolpix L12?
I am replacing a camera and the camera that I am replacing is the Nikon CoolPix L6 with a Nikon CoolPix L12, is this a big difference? And will the owner be staisfied?
There's not a significant difference between the cameras. All you are getting is one megapixel more and image stabilization in the lens, along with one more ISO step. It really wouldn't be that much of an upgrade- the L12 is just the L6 slightly upgraded for a new model year. I've included a side-by-side comparison link in my sources.
my nikon coolpix L12 has stopped turning on completley?
A friend recently accidentally kicked the lens of my Nikon Coolpix L12 camera and at first it read Lens Error, but then it continued working correctly. Now, the camera won't turn on and the lens is stuck with and the little window in the center of the lens is stuck halfway open. how long does a warranty last for this camera [from best buy] and if its expired, how can i get it fixed or replaced and about how much would it cost for each? which is a better option between the two..repairing or replacing?
Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...
Here's some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for less than 50% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try:

What can you say about the NIKON COOLPIX L12?
Please sight its pros and cons.
I dont know about the lady up top but nikon and canon are number one in the world for cameras. the L12 is a good camera is has 1600 iso so you can take pictures from morning to night in the correct light. a 1600 iso, you could take pictures in a cave and they would come out crystal clear. The lady up top camera probably has a iso of 400 that is the average camera. The L12 also has IS which is image stabilization which is good in low light situations and if you are moving and trying to take a picture it holds it steady for you. it also has D-lighting which is cool cause if you took a picture and it just so happen to come out dark with one push of a button the camera would automaticly correct the image for you. You have to know what you want in your camera, what camera fits you right!! I also have a nikon. The only thing I dont like about the camera is the battery system it is 2 aa batteries, I prefer a lithium rechargable battery camera for long life!
I recently took a long road trip and took snapshots of all kinds of stuff in various lighting conditions. I took my time to try to set up my shot in good light or whatever and yet when I got home, ALL of my pictures are hazy, look like they are overexposed, and blurry to some point. It is very very hard to adjust it to a decent setting to where you can get a shot in a dark museum and then go outside in bright daylight. I had it on auto for a while too and even those pix didn't come out well.
My best camera experience ever was with the Kodak easy share. I didn't even have a high level of pixels, and still every shot came out beautiful, that is, until I dropped it and broke the button. :( The trouble with those (and the reason I bought a Nikon) is that you have to send it to Kodak, and pay a fortune for repair. Easier to buy a new one.
My next camera? I'm probably going to either go back to Kodak or I will invest in a Canon with a real zoom lens and an anti-shake feature. Forget the Coolpix unless you are planning on taking only random snapshots that you don't really care how well they come out.
You have to remember that these are point and shoot cameras and cannot be expected to 1) perform like a professional DSLR and 2) make up for poor photographic skills.
The L12 is an especially good deal. Given its cost it is one of the least expensive camera with IS (Image Stabilization)
Which camera is better Nikon coolpix L12 or Canon A720 IS?
and I know that A720 Is has got 8 mp but I don't care about this one but about the quality and stuff.
hold both of them in the store
see which one feels better in your hands
which is better a canon a460 powershot or Nikon L12 coolpix?
please help.

How do you charge Nikon Coolpix L12 batteries?
or other batteries for digital cameras
The Great thing about the Nikon coolpix L12 is that it takes Two AA batteries but they tend to run out really fast! never leave your batteries in your camera when yo uare not using it because they can leak!
Why can't I use other rechargable batteries on my Nikon coolpix L12 other than NIKON batteries?
Unless you want to invalidate your warranty, stick with Nikon batteries.
That said, the Li-ion battery should last past the expiration of the camera's warranty.
The difference in cost between the Nikon batteries and generic are not worth the grief if they cause damage to your camera. There are some good reasons to use OEM equipment on your cameras, whether they are Nikon, Canon, Casio, Pentax ... well you get the drift
what is the best to buy Nikon coolpix L12 or Olympus FE-230 digital camera...?
Have you compared them side by side? If so, which one has the most features you want in your camera? Try steves-digicams.com or dpreview.com for reviews.
IMO you should visit a real camera store - a store that only sells cameras, not 10,001 other things and cameras - and do a side by side comparison. The salesperson will give you intelligent advice and you'll be able to try them in the store. You should then BUY the camera from that store. You might even get an hour or so of instruction with it.
digital camera Coolpix L12 ??
Hello, I was thinking about buying Nikon coolpix L12
Nikon is famous for making great cameras and I was told that L12 is prety good.
What is your opinion, how good is it , what about the quality of pics taken at low light situations.I know that compact cameras do not have a good flash, what about this one. What about grain and things ??
I AM INTERESTED ONLY in your personal opinions. Do not paste any addresses, your personal experiance is the most important for me.
The Nikon Coolpix L12 is a very simple digital camera. Even for a point and shoot type model it has a reduced set of features that make it easy to use. The Coolpix L12 has seven megapixels and a three times zoom lens. It is likely to appeal to someone who is looking for a no fuss digital camera and does not want to spend a fortune.
Image Quality Nikon Coolpix L12 test shots
Aside from the macro shot which I will describe in more detail in a while the test photos I took with the Coolpix L12 are well above average for this type of digital camera. One of the most noticeable differences is just how sharp the photos are.
The best example of the increased sharpness that this camera offers is the first outdoor photo. Starting with the brickwork in the centre of the shot the focusing is clearly better than with other similar models. Even as you work your way out from the centre towards the edges the sharpness levels remain high. The colours are also strong in this photo. Whereas many of the cameras I test have a habit of turning blues into purple, the Coolpix L12 does a good job of retaining colour levels.
Another difficulty that the Coolpix L12 handles well is sun glare. This is another area where this camera outperforms many others.
When the zoom lens is not used as in the second outdoor shot focusing levels do slip away. This is something I am used to seeing with consumer compacts.
The third photo is with the lens zoomed into its full capacity. Focusing levels improve again and this is another above average photo.
Throughout my tests I have been happy with the colour levels. They are not quite as strong as some cameras offer. This can help them to have a more natural feel.
There is one photo though that I think could have had a touch more colour. That is the outdoor portrait. It is not a bad photo, but a bit more colour may have added some extra zest to the shot.
Moving indoors I was pleasantly surprised by the way the Coolpix L12 handled my lowlight tests. Both the indoor portrait and the extreme lowlight test show that the camera is still able to focus in poorer lighting. Even so never expect too much indoors or in lowlight from any small compact. Different lighting situations can cause a problem.
If you are looking for a camera to handle close up shots then this is not the camera for you. For a start the Coolpix L12 can only focus from 15cm away from the subject. At that distance the camera struggles to really bring out the detail. The image is of low quality and after you have cropped the image to produce a close up you will struggle to make a print.
ISO levels are set automatically by the Coolpix L12. Therefore I am unable to run my normal tests to see how the camera performs at different ISO levels.
Shutter Lag
I was able to take a single shot in 0.42 seconds and five photos in 12.78 seconds. These are a bit above standard times. With the flash on a single photo took 0.59 seconds and five photos took 39.76. Flash recycling times are a very serious problem for the Coolpix L12. In fact I have never seen a cameras struggle like this. So shutter delay is a bit longer than I like to see for a single shot, but if you are planning to fire off a couple of shots with the flash on here and there then you are in for problems.
You can compare this camera to other models by taking a look at the Shutter Lag Comparison Table.
Style: For a cheaper digital camera the build quality of this camera is good. Available in silver or black it is almost small enough to fit into a pocket. It has a slightly raised area on the front to help you hold it steady while taking a shot.
Dimensions: 91 x 61 x 26mm
Weight: 125g
Batteries: Two AA batteries power the camera. Nikon estimates you should be able to take around 150 shots with standard alkaline batteries before they need replacing.
Memory cards: 21mb of storage have been built into the Coolpix L12. I was able to take 20 photos before the memory was full. The camera is compatible with SD cards.

Ease of use rating: Very Good - There isn't much you should struggle with when using the Coolpix L12. It helps that the camera has a relatively basic set of features. There are a few buttons to get used to on the back of the camera, but once you have mastered these you should be well on your way.
Points I like:
Build quality - picture sharpness - overall picture quality
Where it could improve:
Macro mode - shutter lag with flash on
Verdict:
Whether or not the Nikon Coolpix L12 is the right camera for you will depend to a large degree on the type of photos you are planning to take. It handles most photographic situations well. Unless you are planning to use your digital camera for a lot of close up photography then the Coolpix L12 is well worth considering.
Nikon Coolpix L12?
The camera we currently have is 5 years old & takes almost nothing but blurry pictures. I don't need any fancy features or lenses, just something that is guaranteed to take a clear picture & isn't too expensive. The Nikon Coolpix L12 seems to be pretty good for the money.
Looking for thoughts, pros/cons, suggestions.
Thanks!
sounds good to me
go for it
