What is a better alternative to the nikon coolpix 4600 camera?
I have a nikon coolpix 4600 camera. I dont like it because when I take pictures, they turn out blurry because I have a shaky hand. What is a better alternative to this camera?
The Nikon L12 may be just the ticket. It is similar to your old camera and has Image Stabilization. That will go a long way towards helping you overcome your shaky hand

How to transfer photos from camera to flash card -- Nikon Coolpix 4600?
I have a Nikon Coolpix 4600 but lost the Camera to PC connector cable -- I know you can transfer the pictures on your camera to your flash card from the camera itself, I've done it before. I just don't remember how. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
"If all else fails, read the manual".
That having been said, check your camera's various option menus. At some point there should be something that mentions TRANSFER TO CARD.
Is Nikon COOLPIX 4600 digital camera can be used for video?
I bought used Nikon COOLPIX 4600 digital camera and told me it can be used for video, is it true?. Now I like to take video.but I can't see video mark on the power switch.
omg that camera is old.
Anyways to use the film mode, go on the dial on the back of the camera and rotate it to the "Camcorder" it looks like a camera on a tripod, the symbol is all black and is inbetween the picture of the Camera and the setup button.
once you have changed the mode, press the "take picture" button and you will begin to record. Push it again to stop.
When i plug my nikon coolpix 4600 into the USB this message pops up: power surge on hub port. How do i fix it?
A USB device has exceeded the power limits of the hub.
What could be causeing this and what can i do to fix it, i need to get the pictures i have on my camera to the hard drive asap.
Is the camera plugged into a hub? Or did you plug it into the USB port on the computer. A hub is a piece of hardware that is connected to an USB port (to the computer). Basically if you have two USB ports on your computer, a hub will give you more ports (think of it as a splitter at the end of an extension cord).
Unfortunately some hubs are not "powered". Each item plugged into the hub draw a bit of power from the computer, and you basically overloaded it. Nothing is broken--but the item in this case your camera, didn't work. You need to use a hub that is powered (that comes with its own power supply, something like 5 volt DC).
I hope this helps a little. Meanwhile, plug the camera into an USB hub on the computer instead.
Is a Nikon CoolPix 4600 4MP Digital Camera good?
I have one right now but i bought it from my sister for 88 bucks lol. ( used)
She bought it for around 200.00 bucks brand new! But lately i been thinking of buying a very cool slim pocket size Digital Camera but do know what to buy. I want to spend no more then 199.00 or 2 something. Any advice? Which are the best camera that can shut off the flash indoors or outdoors?
Well, for $88, you can't go too far wrong. I bought one new a couple of years ago, just to carry in my pocket. It's good to have a small camera like that so you can always "get the picture." I've had several of these grab shots published in the newspaper, so the quality is quite acceptable.
I have many digital cameras and I am never disappointed with the results of my 4600. AND - it uses "AA" batteries instead of expensive special batteries. It's about the size of a pack of cigarettes, too. There are newer cameras that I am not as familiar with in that price range, but since you said "good, small, cheap," this is one (two) I can really recommend from experience. There are newer Coolpix cameras, but I admit that I am not familiar with all of their features. I assume that the quality of the photos is at least as good as these older models. I'd say to just be sure you get one that has an optical viewfinder, though, because you can't always see the image in an LCD viewfinder.
If it's not fast enough for you between shots, try the "Sports Assist" mode and turn off the LCD monitor.
Here are a few samples. These pics were taken with the Coolpix 4600 with no tricks or gimmicks or filters or anything. They had some "very minor adjustments" in Photoshop. If you bought this camera today, you would be able to go out and snap these pictures yourself.

Yes, you can find better cameras that will work faster, blah, blah, blah, but you paid 88 bucks for a very nice little camera that will probably do all that you want it to do.
Last answerer just can't stand the 6 second delay between shots. Fo $200 you can do better.

My computer does not detect Nikon Coolpix 4600 digital camera?
The USb cable is fine and the batteries work and other USB devices are working with the PC. What can I try to fix it?
Actually it worked just few weeks ago, just stopped working now? I don't see a place to download drivers. There are no drivers on the CD just photo editing software.
if it worked before
the usb cable must have a broken wire
How do I fix a lens error on a Nikon Coolpix 4600 digital camera?
How do I fix this? My camera is no longer under warranty so I cannot easily replace it. thanks
I have a Coolpix 3700 with the same problem - took it to a repair shop and they said to send it for repairs would be $175. Not worth it...
I've heard of people realign the lens by hitting the side of the camera or gently pulling it out...sounds risky but right now my camera is just a paperweight so I figure it might be worth a shot...

How can I use my Coolpix 4600 camera as a webcam?
I have a 4600 and I don't see anything in the manual that says you can do this. I'll watch this question to see if it's an undocumented feature. I don't think you can do it, though.
