What is the maximum SD card memory that Nikon CoolPix 3700 can reach?
Currently i have a 16mb and 256mb SD card for my Nikon CoolPix 3700 model. I plan to buy an extra SD memory, but i am worry if I buy too big capacity of SD memory, the camera might not able to detect them.
Anyone use Nikon CoolPix 3700 here? And what is the maximum SD memory capacity you can reach per single SD card?
I don't have a Coolpix 3700 available for testing, but I have a lot of experience with SD on other devices.
The original SD 1.0 standard was 1 Gbyte. Anything that claims to support SD should work with cards up to 1 Gbyte. Most newer devices also work fine with 2 Gbyte cards, but I have also have experienced compatibilty problems with 2 Gbyte SD cards. The Coolpix 3700 is five years old, so it may not work with 2 Gbyte cards. Above 2 Gbyte, the rule is that it doesn't work.
My advice: 1 Gbyte should work fine, 2 Gbyte may work (test), and forget about larger cards.

This one is supposed to be free. Most of the time (at least on my camera) it's a configuration command. Turn flash off?, turn flash on?
Select and hit OK
Nikon Coolpix 3700 Won't Charge?? It's my friend's camera so I need to fix it!?
It said the battery was exhausted, so I connected the charger to it and it's completely died. What's happened to it and how do I get it to charge??
fhotoace- When I took out the battery there was no place to insert the charger. However, on the side of the camera there is a place where the charger fits into neatly. Is the charger meant to be a USB?
I don't know what you hooked up to the camera, but the Nikon Coolpix uses a special charger. The battery has to be taken out of the camera and placed in the charger for a few hours.
You should have a MH-61 battery charger with the camera ... if not ask your friend for it so you can charge the battery.
Since the battery is nearly five years old, it may be that it needs to be replaced, but my experience with Li-ion batteries is that they last well over five years if treated well.
what's the best digital camera? (no very expensive ones)?
i had a nikon coolpix 3700 it was so cool. i just got a canon sd 450 and it sucks craxy shit. even at highest quality it doesn't match my medium 3.2 mp nikon.
You went from a user friendly medium quality picture to a less expensive higher quality picture which is intended to provide more versitile picture taking at the expense of being user friendly. You have to work harder to get the same results with the canon, but, you can get results in situations which the nikon would have trouble. In order to get the quality of results you want from the canon, you need to know much more about the camera than nikon required. The process is slower due to the number of choices you need to make for each picture. The learning curve for the canon is much steeper.
The Least expensive cameras are "factory reconditionied" which may mean something does not work.
The best camera for you may be "point and shoot"
High end:
Canon Powershot S70 Point & Shoot Digital Camera 7.1 MegaPixel
Canon - CANS70 $429.95
Medium:
Samsung Digimax U-CA3, 3.2 Megapixel, 3x Optical/3x Digital Zoom, Point-and-shoot, Digital Camera
Samsung - DMUCA3B $154.99
Low:
Vivitar ViviCam 3715, 3.3 Megapixel, 2x Digial Zoom, Point-and-shoot, Digital Camera
Vivitar - 60082 $71.00
These three are examples of what is currently available
but they're not cheap!
Picture cannot be found on pc, but can be viewed from camera?
I captured photo with my Nikon CoolPix 3700, and a DNA micro SD card with adapter (become a SD card). But, i cannot transfer / copy the picture from the card / camera to my pc. Several methods tried, i.e. use camera usb cable, use external card reader, put micro sd card into my mobile phone and use phone usb to transfer. The folder is empty, however, when i place the card back to the camera, i can view the pictures from there. Can someone please help?
When i read the card with card reader into DVD player that has USB port, there are folder of DCIM, and inside there, has two folders, 100NIKON and 101NIKON, that is where my pictures are. However, when i put into pc, it only has the DCIM folder, but not 100NIKON and 101NIKON folder in it. Where has the pictures gone?
Do my camera NIKON Coolpix 3700 has internal memory? If yes, how do i move the pictures out from there? As i do not think there is in
The CoolPix 3700 does not have internal memory, according to it's specs. It's possible you are only seeing the image previews on the camera, and not the actual image data. (camera previews might be in a hidden folder).
I would recommend that you do not use the card anymore, until you recover the missing images. You might be writing over the images on the card, if the camera thinks they aren't there.
Go to www.datarescue.com, and download the demo of PhotoRescue.
Run the demo to see if it can find your missing images. If it does, then you can purchase the software for $30, and then recover the data.

There seems to be a problem some where in your computer technique ...
There should be a file folder named DCIM and within it another folder called something like 100ND300 or 100NIKON or something like that ... it is within the second folder where you image files live. UNLESS, you saved all your images to your cameras internal memory. If that happened, then you will have to move them over to the memory card and then from now on, only use the external card to save your images.
