What is the best flash to buy to attach to my Kodak Easyshare P850?
Ever since I bought my camera, I always read how I would need a flash, since the one on my camera wouldn't work so great whenever it came time for me to zoom into something.
I've been looking on Ebay. I'm trying to find one that isn't expensive, but works really well.
I would love suggestions on which ones work the best.
-this question might not be so clear. dont feel the need to answer it if you have no idea what i'm talking about. :D
Also, I've looked up some, and I'm wondering if there is any that I don't have to attach the camera, but one that can be placed somewheres else when i take the picture?? I'm not exactly sure what I would have to search to find what im talking about here, on ebay.
You would search for "slave flash" - http://photography.search.ebay.com/slave-flash_Digital-Camera-Flash-Units_W0QQ_trksidZm37QQcatrefZC12QQfromZR40QQsacatZ107930
or you can also check your local Ritz Cameras:

I have an kodak easyshare p850 And i dont know which kind of memory card to buy!?
there is megabytes that are a lot and the 1 gb reguler and super wich brand and kodak only wants me to buy its brand!
No, you dont have to buy Kodak brand. Visit your local Walmarts photo dept. and they will take you right to the selection thats right for your camera. Most Kodaks take the same type of card. And, its alot cheaper than buying from the manufacturer.
can i use my digital camera(kodak easyshare P850) as a webcam?
if i can, can you please tell me the steps to set it up as a webcam?
i own this camera and sorry to report that no, you cannot use it as a webcam, but if you look at radioshack.com and find one, they have good prices
kodak easyshare p850 error?
i have a kodak p850. got it for christmas '05 and after about a year of it working fine, one day i get an error when i turn it on. the camera was never dropped or mistreated.
im guessing it's an internal error...but is there any way to fix this? maybe a way to reset the camera to factory settings.
--more detailed explanation of the error
when i turn on the camera the lens pops out and a blue screen comes up saying "Camera error #". If there was a number it would be helpful but all it says is #. the lens goes back in and the camera shuts off.
it needs repaired
Kodak EasyShare P850 lens will not retract!?
A month ago the battery charger broke so the battery was not able to be charged. The battery died while the camera was in use and the lens never went back in. We just got a new charger, charged the battery and now it won't come back in!
We put the battery back in the camera.
Turned the camera on, for a split second it is on then it just shuts off.
You can plug it into the computer and get pictures off of it.
What can I do to get this fixed?
Can I reset it somehow?
Or do I have to buy a new part/have it repaired/or toss it?
I said I could get pictures off of it. I didn't ask if I could. Don't talk to me like I have no computer skills which I actually know a lot about computers.
sorry
it needs repaired
Of course you can get your images. Remember that little memory card you bought and put in your camera. Take it out and put it in a card reader (most new computers have them, some printers and if you have to buy one -- under $20)
Then just drag and drop the image files to your computer.
And yes, your camera needs to visit the camera hospital.
Is there a remote shutter for the Kodak Easyshare P850?
not on the camera, and not available off the shelf.

Kodak 5.1 MP EasyShare P850 Digital Camera w/ 12x Optical Zoom?
Does anyone have any experience with this camera? I'm looking for a basic point-and-shoot camera that will take great pics with not a lot of tweeking.
The most important elements for me are:
- Imagine stablization (this camera apears to have it)
- Not a long wait between taking pictures
- Decent macro
- Decent low-light pics
Any thoughts? :)
Id stay away from Kodak. Bought two from them, and both were really bad compared to Canons budget cameras. I mean it takes relatively decent pictures but I feel like they lack in quality. Edges arent sharp, colors are not right, does not always choose the right settings etc. I own the Canon A630 and its spectacular! It has great low light pictures and and it has very sharp pictures. For imagine stablization get the Canon S3, it has superior quality over normal point and shoot, its an ultrazoom so itll have that 12x optical zoom you want. Its almost like an SLR.
Just depends how much your willing to spend. Kodak's arent the best cameras.
Comparing kodak easyshare cameras Z710, Z650, & P850?
Any opinions why to, or not to buy one of these cameras? Any preference between these 3?
P850 for sure

You may add external flash (hot shoe mount) on P850 and there's RAW format in P850
How do I load my Pictures to my desktop from a Kodak P850 camera?
It only allows me to use Kodak Easyshare and I want to download them to my desktop to copy them for family and email them. Do I need to have a camera doc? or a special driver disc? My computer asks for a driver under the scanner/camera area on my computer. I don't have a driver info only the Kodak Easyshare disc. Thanks
Save them in My Pictures or My documents using a distinct name like "Vegas strip" or "Family" or something. [ if you don't name it, it will be a bunch of numbers.]
Then right click on the desktop and go to properties. Click on desktop tab at the top. Then click "Browse" button on the right side of the window. Find your file and click open. Your picture should come up in the small screen in the window. Click apply and ok.
If you are trying to load the picture on the computer, plug in the USB. Once plugged in, the computer should detect new hardware. Install it. This will allow you to upload your pictures. Once opened, you will be able to go to file and save like anyother software...
Hope this helps...
My camera doesn't focus like it use to, any suggestions?
I have had this Kodak Easyshare p850 for a couple of years. It use to take GREAT pictures, but now it doesn't focus very well. Some pictures are still ok, but some are blurry.
Also, I have noticed that the prints I am getting back are grainy. I have the megapixels set to the highest they will go.
I like taking pictures, but I am dumb when it comes to the mechanics of cameras. Any suggestions?
Make sure the lens is clean. All other things being the same you should still be getting the same image quality as you used to before.
I really wouldn't consider much more than that as it could be a lens issue or some kind of problem in the camera itself.
Most digicams are not really economically repairable so if that doesn't do the trick it could be time to think of what kind of camera you'd like to move on to next...
