What is the difference between the Kodak EasyShare M863 and the Kodak EasyShare M763?

I'm trying to pick out a camera and I liked the Kodak EasyShare M863 but i noticed the M763 so i was just wondering
or what are some of the differences between the M series

They are very different and very alike. Here’s a site that will explain in great and simple detail of these two:

Hope it helps!

Just got an easyshare M863, I have been having major problems downloading to laptop?

I am having connection troubles, both Easyshare software and my other photo software will not read all the pixs in the camera. Sometimes has trouble reading that the camera is even attached.

The other digital camera we have transfers just fine, it won't even read the photos in the camera memory let alone the card in the camera.

Still have time to bring camera back, Xmas present, should I stay with Kodak or any other suggestions?
Just like the small little camera, easier to lug around than the big SLR.

Thanks for any advice!
I should ad that yes I've done repairs to software, used clear utility and redownloaded the software. I am using Windows XP and I have no problem with any other cameras.
When attaching usb 3 photos will show up and the rest are blank with a zigzag through it, then I'll try again, and different ones will show up occasionally and the others that came through before are blanked out with the zigzag through it.

Since the same thing happens on two different photo software programs, I'm just wondering if it is the camera.

Well....your probably on XP or Vista........just open explorer and veiw and move to your chosen folders .....drag and drop.........photo sites and other download solutions only want to put their names on the pic's

If you are using the easyshare software just pop the disc back in and do a repair...its one of the options on the disc...that usually solves those type of problems...and check the batteries in the camera If you are connecting with the USB cable then try just using a card reader and doing it that way.
I used a kodak with easyshare for 5+ years with no problems except maybe a couple of tiny issues...thats why I think you should run a repair on your software.

How long can the KODAK EASYSHARE M863 record video??

its called the KODAK EASYSHARE M863 .
If you have one, please tell me how long it can record videos. 30 seconds? 45?

It can shoot video for as long as you have memory available, and it maxes out at 80 minutes. You'd need a pretty monstrous SDHC card to be able to shoot that much, though.

How do I activate the self timer on my Kodak EasyShare M863 Digital camera?

My family and I wish to take a picture and I do not know how to work the self timer on my camera. If someone could please help that'd be really sweet. Thanks. :)

find the clock icon on the back of the camera

Trying to find the self-timer information for your camera wasn't easy (because Kodak's manuals are terrible), but I eventually found it.
From the M863's User Manual...

4 Doing more with your camera

Using the self-timer (the clock icon on back of camera)
Use the self-timer when you want to be included in a picture, or to ensure a steady Shutter button press. Place the camera on a steady surface or tripod.

1. In any Still mode, press the button repeatedly to choose:

10 seconds - A picture is taken after a 10-second delay (so you have time to get into the scene).

2 seconds - A picture is taken after a 2-second delay (for a steady, auto-shutter release on a tripod).

2 shot - The first picture is taken after a 10-second delay. A second picture is taken 8 seconds later.

2. Compose the scene.

3. Press the Shutter button halfway, then completely down.

The camera takes the picture/pictures after the delay.

: Self-timer is not available in menu mode.

Can any one tell me about the Kodak EasyShare M863 Digital camera?

I'm looking to purchase a new camera. I'm intrested in this Kodak. Do you have any other suggestions on cameras as well as on this digital camera? I'm not looking to go pro.

You can also go for the other Kodak EasyShare. These are of comparable prices and advanced features.

http://www.ephotozine.com/article/Kodak-EasyShare-M863-8661

its looks good but it depends on how much u get it for.

i got a 7.1 megapixel camera for £50 at argos.
so the price range for this camera should be £70 tops

I wouldn't recommend it, because this one doesn't have a Schneider lens. Would recommend Canon, Nikon, Panasonic or Sony who all have top quality lenses. You need a good enough lens to use all those megapixels.

You can find Kodak EasyShare M863 Digital camera at Expecto Uk at cheap price.

can someone tell me about the Kodak Easyshare M863's battery life?

I need a new camera and I was seriously considering buying this one. My old one sucked the juice out of batteries...I couldn't take more than 5 pictures without putting a "low battery" signal on. How often would I have to recharge this Kodak?

That camera uses Li-ion batteries that have the best longevity, both holding a charge and life span.

They need to be charged the night before you intend on using it. The most important factor in battery life is how you control your cameras energy .. * keep the LCD off unless you have to use it. * remember that auto-focus and zooming use a lot of power * using the flash over half the time will deplete the power faster. * using your LCD to show off your images to your friends, uses up the battery power fast.

For anyone who has the Kodak EasyShare M863 does it capture video with sound?

Yes it does. If you are having problems, go into the menu and make sure the volume isn't turned off. (Page 34 in the manual has instructions on where it is located.)

Is KODAK EASYSHARE M863 Digital Camera a good camera?

no

what do you if your kodak easyshare M863 camara lense will not open?

My Kodak Easyshare M863 won't fully turn on. Any help?

The camera was working fine, until one day I was using it and the batteries died. I did't charge it up until about 2-3 days later. I left charging over night, like I usually do when it dies, but when I tried to turn it on the next day it still wouldn't load up. It goes to the openning screen then shuts down again. I have tried to recharge the battery again and again, but still same results. Any help?

Camera: Kodak Easyshare M863
Battery: KLIC 7001 Li-Ion rechargeable battery
This is the Walmart pack I exactly bought if anyone needs more info http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=9219215

Take the camera down to the store, any photo store with the same camera model or model of battery.

Tell them you want to see if your battery pack is dead, and would like them to put a charged battery in your camera. If the camera works after that, you need to replace the rechargeable battery.

If it isn't the battery, go to Kodak support online, and go through the guided troubleshooting and support. You might find some answers there.
