'I cried the whole way home' Truro Daily News

By Sherry Martell

Truro Daily News

TRURO – A play date in Victoria Park earlier this week left a Dartmouth woman devastated when her camera disappeared in a flash.

Holly Slaunwhite and her eight-month-old son Thomas visited the Truro park on Tuesday for the first time, joining a couple of friends and their toddlers, walking around trails and playing on the playground.

"I eventually sat on the grass in front of the baby swings," said Slaunwhite.

She and her friends took turns photographing each other with their children, and after enjoying an hour-and-a-half in the sun, they packed up their belongings and left at about 1:30 p.m.

It only took a few minutes to realize they had left the camera sitting in the grass near the swings. They immediately headed back to the park to retrieve it.

"I know that was the last place I had it," she said. "We looked everywhere, we asked people if they had seen it, we even looked in the trash cans, but it was gone."

The Kodak EasyShare 9.2 Megapixel (C913) silver-coloured camera with a large view screen on the back contained about 2,000 images of her son and video of some of his priceless first moments, like learning to crawl.

"I was extremely upset," she said. "I cried the whole way home."

The camera files hadn't been downloaded onto her computer hard drive for months because it didn't have enough memory space available to hold them. She had intended to have the files put on a CD at a photography shop but hadn't taken the time to do it.

"It would mean the absolute world to me to have it back," said the mom. "I am devastated. Half of his life was on that camera and now it is lost."

Park officials said no one turned in a camera as of Friday morning.

If someone has the camera and would like to return it to Slaunwhite it can be dropped off at the Truro Daily News office, 6 Louise Street, or call Carl Fleming at 896-7527.

Kodak EasyShare C913 9.2MP Camera Review

This is a translated version of RUPROPHOTOS' review which is in Russian. Most of the information is translated form their review, however I ...

is a Kodak EasyShare C913 Pink better then a Canon Powershot sd1100 IS?

I just got a canon powershot sd1100 IS and my friend just got a Kodak EasyShare C913 Pink and i want to know whos is better, and how mcuh better. Thanks.

Unless you got the Melody Pink version of the Powershot then the C913 Pink seriously wins on pinkness.

The C913 does a lot less damage to your pay packet too. In pretty much every other way the Canon wins. As with cars though, it's how the thing is driven that counts more than anything.

I need a card reader for my Kodak EasyShare C913 camera?

Im not sure which I should get.
I need one that is compatible with Kodak EasyShare C913 cameras.
Please give a direct web link; thanks

If there are no memory card slots on your computer, purchase a Targus card reader at Walmart for $8.88 or another brand for less at Ritz/Wolf/Kit camera. Also, they do 3½ x 5" digital prints for 6¢ each on Tuesday and Wednesday.

CAUTION To prevent memory card corruption, keep batteries charged and don't delete. Wait for lights to stop flashing then turn camera off before removing memory. For card readers, double click Safely Remove Hardware. Select, then click Stop and OK.

After you have the memory card plugged in, go to My Computer and open the memory card, select the picture you want to copy, and then copy to the My Pictures folder under My Documents under Documents and Settings.

If you have trouble with this, it may be easier to right click on Start and then left click Explore. Find and select the picture you want to copy and then at top left, click the X next to Folders to see a place to select Copy Files. Now select the My Picture folder. Make and select a sub folder then click Copy.

You can also copy from the computer to a memory card.

Have just been playing with this and found that it works really well, but you should first format the memory card in the camera because it adds files to the card you will need.

Next, take a picture of something with the camera.

Place the memory card in the card reader and go to My Computer.

Open the memory card and you should see a folder on the left (DCIM) that has your picture. Do not open the MISC folder on the right.

Double Click on the DCIM folder and you should see another folder e.g.,100HPM417, which includes the name of your camera. Double Click on that folder and you should see the picture you just took.

When you copy from the computer to a memory card, that is the folder where your pictures must be copied. You may only be able to copy one picture at a time.

One last thing, the file names of your pictures must not have any additional letters or those pictures will not be seen by the camera. Also, the file name format must match the file name of the picture you took e.g., HPIM1903. Rename files to the same format as your camera photos.

If you have trouble with this, it may be easier to right click on Start and then left click Explore. Find and select the pictures you want to copy and then near the top left, click the X next to Folders to see a place to select Copy files. You can then select the memory card folder e.g.,100HPM417, that you clicked to see the picture you took and click Copy.

empenage that link says the kit is not available.

Suggest you go to WalMart or some other vendor and buy one for about $4. I did and it works great for our C743.

How do you set the timer on a kodak easyshare c913 camera?

I just recently bought one and I would like to know how to use the timer feature on it. It should have one. Could you please tell me if you know how to set it up.

Read your manual!

If you lost it, download a new one from Kodak.

Where can i get a camera skin for the Kodak Easyshare C913?

I really need one. But, i can't seem to find any online, or in the stores. If you could give me a website that would be great! please help, :)

The Kodak C613 and the Kodak C913 appear to have the same body design.

You can get a skin for the Kodak C613 at Skinit.com and that should fit on your Kodak C913: http://www.skinit.com/devices/digital_cameras/kodak/point_/cseries

I would double check by calling their support line to make sure it will fit: Skinit 1-(866)-380-8130

Hope that Helps :)

Best Regards,
Dusty

Does skinit.com cover is for the front only or is it both side>? front and back?

Trouble uploading pictures off of my Kodak EasyShare C913 digital camera. ?

I downloaded the software off the CDrom that it came with and was able to upload the pictures the first two weeks of purchasing it. It's been about a month and a half and it now only uploads a few. I deleted the software and reinstalled it and no luck. Any suggestions?
Btw: My computer does NOT have a memory slot. It's done with a USB cable.

Don't understand what could have changed, but the following should help you do more than you could ever do before.

The following information describes a way to move/copy photos to and from a computer and memory card.

Just received some pictures in an e-mail which I moved to the computer. Then copied these pictures to a memory card and could view them on my camera or show on TV.

If your computer has memory card slots, find the correct slot and copy pictures from the memory card to the computer.

If there are no memory card slots on your computer, purchase a Targus card reader at Walmart for $8.88 or another brand for less at Ritz/Wolf/Kit camera. Also, they do 4 x 6 digital prints for 5¢ each on Tuesday and Wednesday.

My flash is not working on my Kodak EasyShare C913?

Help!?!? I tried everything but the flash just will not work! Anyone have any suggestions on how to make it work? Or on how i might of messed it up?

Have you tried putting fresh batteries in your camera? Sometimes the flash won't work if the batteries are too weak to charge it up.

Did you accidently turn it off? Check your manual. If you don't have a manual, check out the support page for your camera, you can download it there and get other technical help:
http://www.kodak.com/global/en/service/products/ekn035311.jhtml?pq-path=13176

They also have trouble shooting guide there.

My kodak easyshare c913 won't turn on. I looks as though the lens is not fully withdrawn. Any suggestions?

I have tried brand new batteries and nothing happened. The shutters aren't fully closed. Any suggestions/advice?

HI MG.... I was just going through a few of the older questions and see that no one was answering your question :( so I thought I would try to help. I am afraid it will not make you feel any better though. Your camera, unfortunately, is damaged in someway..... or else it would turn on. It might be in the motor of the retracting lens, since it is not able to return back inside the camera... or it might be in the internal circuitry... Could have gotten too hot and now is fried. No matter what the problem, if you don't want to throw it in the garbage, you will have to take it in to camera repair. The repair tech will give you an evaluation of the problem / an estimate of the cost to fix it / or tell you that it cannot be repaired... damage too bad. In any case, that is the only way you will be able to find out if you need a new camera. Hope I was able to help and sorry about your camera.
