What is the difference between a Canon PowerShot A10 and Canon PowerShot A20?
I have an A10 and saw someone selling an A20 for $20 on craigs list. I love my camera and was wondering if the A20 is better...and if so should I buy it??

Both cameras are discontinued as they were made in 2001. You can read about them on this site. Go way to the bottom of the page to the discontinued ones. Both of them are about 2/3 down the list. You can compare them there.
If you like the camera and can get the other one for only $20, AND there is nothing wrong with it, it would probably be a good deal. I don't see much difference between the two, but it is always good to have a back up camera.

From right to left, the first button, On/Off, turns the camera on after being pressed for a couple of seconds. Next is the Menu button which allows further settings. Centred on the screen are two arrow buttons used to navigate the menus and change the image displayed on Playback. In the recording mode the arrows operate to select Macro or Landscape, and Burst mode or Self timer. Last, the Flash button (looks like a lighting bolt) not only permits the selection of the various flash modes, but also serves to confirm [SET] a choice made in the menu.

Make sure you camera is on. Make sure the display is showing. Push the lightning bolt button. Look at the display. Push the button until you see a lighting bolt in a circle with a slash through it. That means the flash is off.
If you see a lightning bolt with a little eye, that means you have flash with red-eye reduction (a preflash pulse of flashes) enabled. And a regular lightning bolt just means flash is enabled.
Canon Powershot A20?
I have a Canon Powershot A20 that I need to upload pictures from onto my computer. Is there anyway I can bypass it saying "Hardware not installed properly" and all that jibberish and just open it as E:/ ?
Please let me know if theres any specific software I need.

What's the best all around digital camera for around $250?
I've had a Cannon Powershot A20 2.1 MP for about 4 years now. It's been fine for a first time Digital Camera. I'm ready for an upgrade now. The one thing that bugs me...and I know I'm not alone is the delay from the time I push the button and the time the actual picture gets taken. I've looked at different attributes of different cameras and still can't figure it out (frames per second, aperture range, shutter speed)?????? What does all of that mean? What is the camera with at least 5 Megapixels with the least amout of delay?
Canon, Nikon and Panasonic make some very nice cameras under $250. Most have at least 6 mp sensors, but I am afraid that the delay is the nature of the beast, especially if you use flash.
You really have to get a DSLR vamera to get the kind of response you get on film cameras.
How do i undelete?
How do I undelete a picture in a Canon PowerShot A20 Camera? The numbers around the lens is 5.4-16.2mm 1:2.8-4.8. It also says CANON ZOOM LENS 3x around the lens
There is no Undelete capability in most digicams.
Scandisk offers to recover deleted pics from their memory cards if you send it to them before doing a format. (I don't know if they can/will do it for other brands of memory card.)

All three of those cameras are older models. I have the Finepix S3000 and find that it handles well, but suffers from terrible shutterlag, like most other point & shoots do.
The Rebel XT has now been replaced by the XTi, and even that is several years old.
The Canon Powershot A20 was a nice basic camera, but it lacked several features found in other cameras.
Since these cameras are older models, you might want to read these review, written when the camera were new.

The choice is obvious for your original question. The Rebel XT is the only DSLR in the list here and the only one that can grow with your needs and skills.
We can assume you're looking at used cameras here, but you can do better.

download the pics. through a usb cord and then under you pic on your home pg. click upload then browse then find your pics and press upload and tada!!
CIPA standard?
what mah NiMH batteries do they use when testing? my powershot A20 spec says 350shots CIPA standard when using 1600mah batteries. i don't think they still use 1600mah anymore. so what do they use?
does the standard change when they use different mah batteries?
The A20 was released in 2001 and 1600mAh batteries were probably the highest capacity available back then.
From most camera reviews I have seen lately, most reviewers tend to use 2500mAh NiMh batteries in their tests.
But, don't expect high capacity batteries to work just as well in your older camera as they would in a newer model, because new cameras have improved technology and better power management.
