Which is better camera Canon powershot A1000 IS or Kodak easyshare Z1485 IS ?

Quality of Kodak is NOWHERE near Canon.
The sensor in Canons are better so a 10mp will produce a better image than Kodaks 14mp (and realistically no-one needs 14mp) and Canon are the only one to have OPtical Image Stabiliser (antishake) which is a spirit level in the lens that shifts the sensor the opposite way to which your hand is shaking when the picture is taken to avoid blur (so technically the sensor is still when image is taken)
Kodak just use software to enhance and remove blur.
I have a Canon and a Kodak rep gave me a camera to try for a few weeks to try swap me over, but its CRAP!!!

So my Powershot A530 got busted,,,and its one of those "smarter to just buy a new one than fix the old one" type things. My question is simply how good a camera is it,,,and where can i a good amount of user reviews about it?

& made from plexy glass,

but they bought me the powershot A1000 because target didnt have the gold colored one like i wanted.

Canon Powershot a590 IS or Canon Powershot a1000 IS?
Which one is better? a590IS is a bit cheaper, has 8.0 megapixels, face detection. a1000IS is a bit more expensive, has 10 megapixels, face detection, basically all the features in the a590IS but has a new design which is way thinner than the a590IS. so ummm, which one do you think is a better buy overall? thanx alot in advance. ^_^
I'd be wary of the A1000. I'm a Canon fanatic, but these new design "thinner" Canons have been receiving iffy reviews, most notably for shoddy quality. Here's some for the A2000:

The A590 has a proven track record, and is a quality camera. I'd personally go for that one.

The SD750 is a smaller camera with a larger LCD screen and a different design. I like the SD series myself, they are quick and take good quality photos. I like the SD750, it's a good camera.
The A1000 IS is pretty decent, it has a slightly better lens and includes the Image Stabilization and red-eye correction.
If you have narrowed your choices down to these two models I would say the A1000 is probably the better choice if you don't mind the size.
